Lawyers Want Safety Labels on Social Media to Protect Users

Forty-two top lawyers from different states want Congress to put warning labels on social media apps, similar to those on cigarette packs.

They believe this will help protect kids, teens, and young adults from mental health problems caused by these platforms.

They wrote a letter to Congress saying, “As state Attorneys General, we share a deep concern for the safety of the kids in our areas — and algorithm-driven social media platforms threaten that safety.”
